I love this slow time of year. After the holidays, before Spring -- when things seem to quietly settle down in respect for the terrible weather.
I've been watching a lot of movies, both on dvd, and on the movie channels.
I bought Schlinders List over a year ago, but I've never really been able to sit and watch the thing all the way through. It's a long movie, and I always find myself needing to get up to do this or that.. then trying to rewind it to where I was, then having to get up again. I tried again a few days ago, but yet again I wasn't able to see it in its entirety. I'm determined that I will one of these days. I have to say though, Mr. Schlinder was a hell of a person.
I watched one of my favorites, Elizabeth, again last night. I've no desire to make windows into men's souls..." It's a good movie, if you like history, you'll enjoy this one. It's about Queen Elizabeth, and it's very well done.
I've always been able to watch horror movies alone, but the other night I tried to watch one that Sarah loaned me, Wrong Turn and for the first time in my life, I had to turn it off. I don't know why it bothered me like it did, it's sort of like the Texas Chainsaw movie, but still, I got so uncomfortable I turned it off and decided to wait to watch it when someone else could watch it with me.
I did watch Dark Water the other night, and I really liked it. A ghost story with a reason, how I love those! Give it a watch, it's a good movie!
