For years, Mom has collected those little toys that come in kid's meal bags. Nick, Me, Lisa, Sarah, all of us have donated to the big box that Mom keeps in her room. Over time, one box filled and she started on another.. and another..and she ended up having a ton of those things.

When Mik started taking allergy shots, she decided that the 'suffering' was worth at least a trip to Walmart for a small toy. She hit up Granny for this so called 'suffering' toy.. having phoned her one day to describe how horrible it was to have a shot in the back of each of her tender arms... how painful, how great her suffering was.. how she didn't think she could bear them.. unless there was to be some kind of compensation.

After months of suffering toys.. Mallory remembered them when she had to go have her eeg last week. She had me dial Mom, and once she had her on the line, I eavesdropped.
"Granny, do you think I need a toy, I do because I suffered. I suffered even more than Mikyla suffers."
Mom agreed, yes, Mallory most certainly did need a toy for all that suffering... she went and got Mal some candy, and a stuffed animal, but then she decided it was time Mallory had some of the kid's meal toys.
Mikyla had already recieved one of those popcorn can filled with them for her suffering, back in the summer. So she got a popcorn can and filled it with the kid's meal toys for Mallory.. and brought it here to her the other day.. it tickled Mal to death. She keeps it over in the corner of the den, and plays with the contents every day and after she's finished, she carefully puts them back into the can, and pushes it back into the safety of the corner.

Tonight we had Maegan lying on the afghan, and over in the corner, where she could see them, Mikyla and Mallory were playing with the popcorn can toys. Mallory had stacked several of them on the top of the can, and Maegan could see them from where she was laying. In a space of 30 minutes, it took her that long...she inch-wormed her way on her back over to that can. She had her sights on those toys. She made it too.. but a second after she reached out and touched the can, Mallory spotted her and quickly picked up her can, and moved it out of Maegan's reach.

*laughs*
After watching Maegan work so hard to get to it, and have it taken away so cruelly, Mom decided that while Maegan hadn't really 'suffered' - it was time she had her own can of toys too. She gave her a Folger's Plastic Coffee can of little stuffed toys out of the kid's meal collection. Maegan had a ball with them too. Thanks Mom!
These videos should load quickly for you, they're very small!
Earlier, Sarah came in with one of those big Hershey kisses for Maegan.. boy she sure enjoyed that!

The girls went home tonight - they wanted to go to church with their Mommy & Daddy in the morning. They'll be back tomorrow though - Sarah has to work again.
It's been a pretty nice day.. it rained a cold misty rain off and on all day, insuring that all we did was lay around, eat, watch tv, play and nap. I love days like this one. :)
