I turn on the computer and find out that Coretta King passed away - I didn't have her on my dead pool either.
A postal worker killed 6 people in California... I wonder if she was taking Prozac?
Mr Bush gave his State of the Union Address. last night - I missed it though - I was busy watching Corpse Bride (good movie) with the kids. Reading on msnbc.com though, I see he's all for cutting dependance on foreign oil. I agree, let's just buy it from Bush instead! With the economy being what it is, I'm sure he and his family could use the extra money!
When is cold and flu season gonna relinquish its hold on us? We've got another round of some hateful virus - and I feel like I'd have to get better to die. I'm ready for spring. This is getting old!
I watched the new release of The Fog a couple of nights ago, pretty good, but I can't figure out why they screwed around with Elizabeth, that addition just sucked, and made no sense.. okay, she was the ghost's love, but..what the hell was she doing with the living.. what the hell was she doing "fighting" with her mother when she first came back - her mother wasn't almost 200 years old. And if she was the ghost's love, why the hell did she sleep with that guy? To meet the 'at least one tit shown" quota they seem to require in all movies anymore? That part just bit, but all in all, it was okay. It would have been better if I hadn't seen the original (which was too cool!)
I would love to see a remake of Peter Straub's Ghost Story. That would be too neat. I still think that's the best ghost story ever told.
Kelly and Bonnie have parted ways. I guess it's for the best when a couple can't get along. Kelly, I wish you well. Take care of yourself.
Sarah is still working 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, and the girls and I are having a blast - they, being able to spend the night every night during the week, is pretty dang cool, and we're loving it! I'll love it better after I get the house straightened up today, and get the laundry caught back up. Wall papering and painting sure does cause the rest of the housework to be neglected, but it was worth it, the room looks great!
Joel's back, he sleeps here too, and Bon comes to get him after she naps a while during the day. She's working 3rd shift now, and I know that one's hard. Especially with a 2 year old who wants to get up and play all day, when all you want to do is find a nice quiet corner and sleep for a few hours. He's been good as gold for me, and he's back to sleeping at night and up during the day to play with Mallory. (Who is just fine and hasn't had even the slightest inkling that she's going to have another seizure, thank God!)
Maegan is growing like a weed - which is giving Mikyla pause for thought. Mik gets up and goes to school, and every day she comes home to see that Maegan has learned something new. The other day, Mikyla whispered to me, while she watched Maegan warily, "Mammy, that's not Maegan - Maegan doesn't know how to say "dada"." She was so serious, so paranoid.. like.. please, we have to find Maegan and send this baby back where she belongs!
Maegan can wave now, she "talks" to herself, in baby babble, all day long. She can sit up forever now without toppling over - and she loves to play with her toys. She's sure teething too, chewing on things with a vengance. She doesn't like to be wooled though, and Mallory loves to try coddling her.. it makes Maegan so angry one would think she's about to pop a vessel. I have to keep reminding Mallory to get away and give Maegan her space. Mallory hates space giving, so we have a constant war of wills there.
It's Gary's week with Acey and Breanna so I've not had them here this week, but they'll be back on Tuesday, I think it is. Oj's off Sunday and Monday. However, she's thinking of changing jobs, which will be a 9 to 5 position if she gets it, and that will mean I don't have to babysit them because she'll be home when they are.
I can't believe it's almost 6:30 already. Where the heck did the time go already. Another 30 minutes and it's time to get Mik up for the day. Good Lord, time didn't fly like this for me 30 years ago. I think the republicans have done something to cause time to go faster, in fact, I'm sure of it! *laughs* Damn them, they can't leave anything alone!
Ohhh, one last thing. Too funny, and I knew, KNEW it was coming - but I never dreamed it would come this soon. Last night, Mikyla informed me that she just had to have "cuter" clothes. I said, "Mikyla, your clothes ARE cute!" To which she replied, "Yeah, but they're not cute enough. Brittany's clothes are cuter, and that's why Madison wants to be her friend - Brittany is prettier than me."
"Oh honey, you're as cute as Brittany is, I promise!"
"No! I need cuter clothes! Brittany wears sparkley ones that make her look like she has boobies, and I need clothes like that too so that Madison will be my friend again."
Love her heart. She had me dial Sarah for her so that she could let Sarah know that they had to go clothes shopping, as soon as possible.
It's just impossible to believe that she's old enough to start being concerned about her clothes, and to start wanting to be fashionably dressed.
*groans*
My own girls didn't start that crap until they went into 7th grade. Egads, poor Sarah!
Okay, time to go.. have a good day everybody. I love ya!
