What's On My Mind This Morning...

Is Atlantis Fuct? The last time I made a comment on a shuttle, the thing exploded while I watched live on television. I remember talking to my friend Deanna, and saying something like, man I hope it doesn't explode. About a minute later, the Challenger exploded all over the bright blue sky. If I remember right, it was on Mom's birthday, maybe the day before, or right after. The other day I recall reading that there were some toxic fumes inside coming from their oxygen tanks or something, and now they're saying that there has been some objects floating close to the shuttle, but they're going to bring it down anyway. I sure hope they make it back safely. Why anyone would get on one of those things is so far beyond me, I won't even get on a bumper car. They sure are some brave people to do that.

Willie, Willie, Willie, pot AND magic mushrooms? Greedy bastard! Do you realize how many people watch you? Sheesh.

This morning before they left, Stan was polishing his shoes right at the kitchen table right on my rug. I warned him if he got that polish on the rug there'd be trouble and plenty of it. His reply? "I won't be here to get in trouble."
Mine: "You will be back and I will be waiting for you with a rolling pin!"
He didn't get it on there, but had he, I'd have paced with the rolling pin, determined not to forget until tomorrow. I swear it! Kelly's graduating from Boot Camp tomorrow and they've gone to see the graduation. Way to go kelly, I'm proud of ya!!

It's so cold this morning I turned on the heat. 15 more minutes and it's time to wake the girls for school. They should be well rested, they were sleeping before 10 last night. 9 would be better, but there's no way on earth they're gonna be sleeping by 9. Little Vampires!

I need to bring in my orange tree and hibiscus trees sometime today. It was supposed to frost last night but didn't, thankfully.. but it might just frost tonight and I don't want them to die.

Lisa's birthday is on the 25th. Lisa, you're getting OLD! haha!

Brenda called last night and said that so far Papaw seems to like where he is and he's doing pretty well there.

Nick came over yesterday and played the Sax for me.. wow has he gotten good on that thing! By the year's end he's gonna know that thing forwards and backwards! Gooo Nick. I got tickled at him the other day. He came over here and got an ice cream out of the freezer, which led to a conversation about brands of ice cream, which is best, which really sucks, that sort of thing. We have a dog again and I suppose Nick had his mind on the dog when Stan said he didn't care much for "Pet" Ice Cream, that he favored "Bryers" - Nick spit out his strawberry crunch bar and started wrapping up the remaining ice cream on the stick and he said "Oh God, I didn't mean to eat the dog's ice cream." He turned another shade of white and said, "I didn't even know they made pet ice cream..." He thought Pet was for pets.. dogs and cats, *laughs* He didn't know it was just a name brand, for humans. That was too funny.

Mom's doing better now, but she's had a sore throat and cough all week. The kids shared their strep with her. She's missed going in to school, and was explaining over the phone to Mikyla why she was going to miss the following day as well, telling her that her head was hurting so badly it felt like it was just going to explode. To which Mikyla replied.. "oh NONsense, that's not going to happen." Mom cracked up. Nonsense. There'll be no nonsense on Mikyla's watch. Heads exploding indeed!

Okay, time for waking small children from sweet dreaming slumber, so they can get ready for school.. (no wonder they just love school so much)

Have a good day, world!
