We're still getting them almost daily. It's been like this the whole summer. I'm not complaining, I like them, but it's sure been difficult to get outside much with the kids this year.
I want to take them to the Zoo soon. Before really bad weather sets in, but it's hard to catch a nice day to go.
I'm not sleeping well lately. Not since last week when I felt someone had been in my house in the night while we were sleeping. I hate when this happens. I've never taken a sleep aid until now, but I've given these Sominex a try, and they work, but only for a couple of hours at a time. I wonder how many are too many?
I've gone through all the movies I own now, and pretty much enjoyed them all. One in particular. "Elizabeth". I've watched it twice now, about Queen Elizabeth, and thinking on it.. a queen isn't such a wonderful thing to be. That woman was so lonely. The Virgin Queen. I'll have to remember to go look her up online sometime.. I'm curious what all that white paint on her represented...
Maybe I'll just save the quilting for this winter.
I need to start my christmas shopping. I know it sounds like a long time away, but it's almost mid august already and time really does go so fast...
I really want to do some major cleaning around here too before it starts getting cold. Somehow, someway, this house has become overloaded with 'stuff'.. like
typical pack rats, there are things here we'll never in a zillion years use, do not need, will never need.. I hate clutter.. and I have so very much of it. Bon's George Foreman grill is on my countertop...never been used. It will never be used. And I'm tired of my wall hangings. I want to take them down, maybe Sarah would like to have them, and I'd like to replace them with some new things. BUT NOT SAVE THEM.. bah, what do we need with so many empty Folger's coffee cans? It seems like I just threw out a hundred. They sure add up quickly.
Some day, I'm going to lose Stan in the midst of all the stuff he likes to stockpile...
We still have the wheelchair in the closet. And the walker. The walker has never been used.. the wheelchair is brand new. Used once. I think there's still a tag hanging on one of the handles. Those things though, I don't want to get rid of. Call me superstitious, but mom commented for me to keep them, that someday she or dad might need them. I figure.. so long as I keep them, they won't be needed. The second I give them away, sure as the world they'll be needed.. Lord those are two things I sure don't want to need..so I'll cope with them being in the closet.
School has started back for most of the kids in this area. Wasn't that the fastest summer vacation in history? They're talking about having the kids go all year here.. I sure hope that doesn't happen. It's too hard on the kids.
What is there for them to look forward to in that?
I opened one of the trunks today, to see what's in there, and couldn't believe how much material i have in that thing.. I need to get off my butt and make some quilts.
I hate the actual quilting part tho, I wonder if i could just make the tops, and get someone else to quilt them..
were so good today. They both took long afternoon naps, at the same time, so it was pretty quiet here for a while.
We almost have the bathroom to rights again, thank god. What a mess!
Mik insists she wants 'Boibee' wallpaper and 'Scooby do' paper in there too. That should be pretty interesting..
Mallory is almost potty trained! Yay! She'll be 2 in a few days, on the 11th.
She's growing like a weed, and that child has the most piercing eyes. She's talking up a storm, but her words run together and you have to listen carefully to understand. She's an adorable little girl, so gentle and loving.. (unless she's beating up her sister)
I just can't believe how fast time is flying. I'll look up oneday soon and Mik will be going to school already.. ugh..
