The Pope, Mel Gibson and Michael Richards have in common?
They're men.
Michael Richards made a pure ass out of himself with his tantrum and now Jesse Jackson wants America to ban the DVD release of the 7th season of Seinfeld to make a statement about Richards' use of the "N" word. Punish the whole cast because of one ass. I think if they do that, they should ban all DVD's and CD's which contains the "N" word, period. Wouldn't rappers and a ton of other comedians just love that? Mr. Jackson, why don't you find a way to punish Richards and leave the others alone?
The Pope's been in hot water for quite a while now for his remarks about the Islamic religion, infuriating Muslums by insinuating their religion is coated in violence. Now he's in Turkey eating more crow.
And Mel Gibson... a drunken Anti Semite rave. Drunk out of his mind, still folks insist that the words filled with hatred had to come from somewhere inside of him. I sure hate to believe that because I used to like Mel Gibson. But then again, that was before I knew he's just another alcoholic celebrity with more money than sense.
Ironic isn't it, these men in so much trouble for what spewed from their mouths? And it's said that women love to talk. *laughs* Well they're right, this one does!
*waits for some advocacy group for 'men who have been bashed' to come forth demanding an apology*
C'mon! I double dawg dare ya!
I want you to look at this.. just take a gander! *laughs* He's so proud of himself.. soooo pleased that he's just glowing! The video is of him taking his first steps now after his surgery.. his physical therapist and Mom and Lisa are helping him. He's doing so well!!! Way to go, Papaw and Mom and Lisa and Eddie!!
Papaw Walking Again! (11.42 Mb's)
This next clip is of Papaw and Mallory, she likes his pull up bar. She's such a monkey!
Monkey Mal and Company (2.49 Mb's)
He got his pull up bar today, and he uses it.. Mal loves it too. :)

I...mentioned that Mallory loved the bar too, didn't I?

*laughs* I can't get over how tickled he was.. he was just as pleased with himself today as Maegan was when she took her absolute first steps in life.. it was really neat to get to watch...

He rolled himself into the kitchen after he finished with his physical therapy, and rewarded himself with a single chocolate coated raisin!

I betcha by Christmas he's gonna be going anywhere he wants, doing everything he was doing before he fell. This, however, is my very very very very very very favorite new thing in his world!!!!!!!
*snoopy dances*
Big Drumroll!!!!!!!! Da Da Da DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......

*laughs!!!*
GOOOO Papaw!!!!
...has been the busiest most hectic week of my life, I think. First Mik had a play at school. We had a week's notice that we needed to make her an Indian costume. I did it, and I have to say, it turned out pretty well. I only wish I'd gotten a photo of her wearing it.
Then we had Dippy's birthday, that was nice.. the pics are posted below, the spaghetti was delicious, thanks to Prego and frozen Garlic Bread. *laughs*
Thanksgiving was next, and that was a really nice day, the kids came and ate, then we sat around and just talked.. ended up talking about ghosts, and Roy M told one that gave me cold chills. It was the story of the Coal miners who died in a mine he was working at.. but who were still buried under the rockfall. He said he only worked one night in that mine and he was alone there that night, and that he could hear those dead miners in there working. Mamaw used to tell me that story, and I wrote it down in one of those Appalacian Tales I had posted a long time ago. The one where the guard of the mines heard the explosion and the men screaming and it was so real to him he actually phoned ambulances and fire trucks to come help, only to find out later that there weren't any men in the mines, that the accident he'd heard happened over 20 years ago. I thought that was just an old story mamaw told, but Roy said no, it was a real tale and quite a few guards quit because of the same thing happening to them. How cool is that? Oh I'd love to be able to get the paranormal group together and go there to do an investigation. We couldn't do it though, even if I had time. Roy said that MSHA wouldn't let us in. Bleah! Later, after our dinner, we went over to Mom's for dessert. Mallory had to go see Papaw, she likes him. We were still too full though to eat anything, but it was a nice visit. :)
Last night, I got Bonnie and Kelly to spend the night here, so they could stay with the kids while Stan and I got up at 3:30 A.M. - to go to Walmart and get in on the big Black Friday Christmas sale. I've never done that before, always wanted to, and so now I have. MY GOD! The sale started at 5.. we got there at 4:30 and I can't believe how packed they were! The whole lot was full and they were starting to park up on the grassy knoll of the highway itself! UNBELIEVABLE! I shuddered, shook my head no and we turned around and went to Biglots instead. Their sale started at 6 and they had a camera advertised in their sales ad that I wanted to get for Mikyla and Mallory for Christmas from Santa. A Polaroid digital camera with a printer dock for the unbelievably low price of $69.99.
We waited in the lot and finally people started pulling up, at at 5 till we went to stand in line at the door with the others. When they finally let us in, we found out that we had to get the cameras right there at the register, pay for it immediately and when they were out, they were out. We got in line behind about 8 other people, and I watched those cameras dwindle down to 3, then it was our turn. We tried to buy 2 but the lady said, oh no, there's a limit of one per customer.. so I said ok he'll take one and I'll take one. *laughs* unfair? maybe, but I got up at 3:30 to get those cameras. The girls will love 'em too!
I can say this with all certainty. Never Again. NOooway will I bother to get up that early to get out to those sales. Good God what a crowd!
Sarah and Roy came to say goodbye at about 4 this afternoon. Sarah quit her job and has gone back to Mississippi with him. I have the girls here with me, and Sarah and Roy should be back about Christmas-time. I don't know how that's going to work out for them, but I hope it goes well. The girls are fine with it, I thought they'd be sad, but they didn't even run to the door to see them off when they left. Mikyla was too busy on her computer, Maegan was too busy with my chocolate milk, and I don't remember what was keeping Mallory's attention so riveted. Anyway, they're gone and so far they've not called. But then it's a good 12 to 14 hour drive and they've not had time to get there yet. Maybe they'll call soon.
Happy Birthday, Again, Jana!! Love ya!!
Well..I'm running on an empty tank of energy - I didn't sleep last night for being afraid I'd miss the big Camera sale...and while I did get to take a 2 hour nap today, my eyes are burning, I'm so sleepy I can't see straight. I'm going to bed. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
G'nite world!!
Were delicious!!!!!!! Let's do it again, Kelly!

Can you tell Mikyla wasn't really interested in smiling for my shot? She was too busy playing "Sims" on her computer!

Joel brought me a daisy for Thanksgiving! :) Thanks, Joleybean, I love you! And the daisy was BEAUTIFUL!
Bonnie and Kelly, Sarah and Roy, Mom, Nick and Lisa, Dianne, and the grandkids were here, and that was so nice! We had a delicious spaghetti dinner and a great big cake (Mallory picked it out) with an angler and fish on it. Thank you for all the gifts you brought him everyone, he had a wonderful birthday!

Happy Birthday, again, Danny!
sharing my chocolate milk with my granddaughter. :)

Mallory is the most loving little girl I've ever seen. Before she leaves our company, she has to give us all a great big hug.. doesn't matter who it is, they get one. She's something else!

This child has a mouth full of teeth and she's talking up a storm lately. Most of her words are garbled, but we can understand what she's saying. Her favorite song..and she sings it all day..and i mean ALL day..
"What's gonna work? TEEEEEAMMMMMWORK!"
Adorable! She's such a happy baby!

...back to those teeth.. she's taken up biting. OUCH! We're trying to break her from that, that hurts!
Mik had a couple of lines to say in the play, and she did a wonderful job.. the video though is tooo big and Sarah didn't get a single shot of Mik in her little Indian costume that I made her. I'll have to get her to put it back on and take one myself.
Sarah did get one of Mallory there in the gym that day though..

...happy! I was over there a few days ago and got this photo, I take one every time I go and he just looks better and better every day. Mom, you have really worked miracles with him. When you first got him out of the nursing home, just the pallor on his face, the hopelessness in his eyes, the fear and pain in his voice, everything about him screamed "I give up." I remember hearing him say he didn't want to live anymore, and I heard him praying to die. What a difference now.. he's not the same man.

He doesn't scowl at me when I go in his room like he used to do when I went to visit him back in the summer.. he looked like he'd just sucked on a lemon back then. Now, he's downright personable.. his sense of humor is back, he's laughing and joking again, I'd have never EVER believed it would be possible to see him like this again.
He and I were talking the other day, and I asked him if he was happy.. "Lord yes, I'm happy, I like it here." He said it without hesitating, and he meant it. He talked up a storm, down memory lane and then to my surprise, he started telling me his plans for the future. He's determined to get himself one of those electric scooter wheelchair things and he says he's going to ride it back and forth from Mom's house to Lisa's. I bet he'll do it too. :)
Mom, Mamaw would really be proud of you. When you meet again in heaven, I'm quite sure she's going to let you know it too.
To the family of Bobby Smith, and the cat. Kelly, I'm so sorry for your losses. Life can be so hard sometimes, and even harder to just try to comprehend. If there's anything I can do, please, let me know. Please, tell your Mom she's in my thoughts, and prayers. God bless you all.
Have gone out on a 'date'. He's in for Thanksgiving. He's taken her to Cumberland Falls. Earlier, they took the kids out to eat, then to the movies to see Santa Clause 3. They're back here now though, and sleeping. He brought them Bratz dolls back from Mississippi, they really liked them. It seems like Cumberland Falls would be an awfully cold date here in late November. The spray from the Falls can be downright cool even in summertime. I hope Sarah has enough sense to stay away from the edge where she's apt to get wet.
I want you to look here at the ring my Aunt Midge sent to me! It was my Aunt Jeanie's ring! I'll treasure it forever! It really means a lot to me... Thank you Aunt Midge!!!!!!!

Mallory got some "Floam" yesterday and set out to make a popcicle with it, but it sure did turn out looking like the green weeny to me!
...how life takes all these twists and turns and you never really know how anything is going to turn out? And the outcome is usually the very last thing you'd ever expect to have happened.
For example.. just a couple of days ago, I had no Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and now today I have 2 boxes. Isn't that amazing?
And take Junior Mints...The last box I bought were just normal small sized Junior Mints with white in the middle, and now this new box.. the centers are red and green. I never would have expected that...
A month ago I was worried sick about Sarah, and now she's staying here, she's fine, working, doing really well. Roy's in Mississippi. The kids are happy, they're doing great, no colds or viruses at the moment.
Last night I was trying to fall to sleep, when I heard this horrible gasping, snorting, trying to breathe type snoring...coming from my closet. I had to look to see what the hell it was.. and it was Fudge.. sleeping and just snoring dog style. He sure fit in here well. He and Mikyla were performing a snore symphony. Mallory put in an occasional high pitched whimper to complete a full sonata in sinus problems major.
Oh and while it's on my mind, one quick thought about those "male enhancement" commercials on television. They drone on and on about how Bob's confidence has increased so much.. when all I actually hear them saying is, "...our product makes the every day average dick a bigger dick. Male enhancement...yeah. That's just what this old world needs more of.
I would also like to extend my condolences to Mr. Bush. *laughs* He's had one hell of a week hasn't he? (No, it wasn't my 'bigger dick' comment that lead me along this next line of thought, I.. don't think, anyway...) Rumsfield will complete his term.. on second thought, let me show you the door. And the poor bastard has who now, knocking at his door, 3rd in line for the presidency? What's this woman's name, Pelosi? She'd allegedly said something in the past along the lines that Mr. Bush was dangerous and an emperor who wasn't wearing any clothes? Yes, I'd say he's had a really shitty week, wouldn't you?
And how was your week?
Mikyla bought him a Santa hat yesterday and so we had to get a pic...

He was in a really good mood today..

Isn't she funny?! Her hips move, I think, even when she doesn't want them too, she cracks me up!
He's doing so well! I'd have never believed this! Two weeks ago I'd have never dreamed he'd ever be up and out of that bed again. Amazing! Way to go Mom!!!
You've done wonders with him! Way to go Papaw!!
