Dippy and I took the girls to their banquet this evening, and Lisa babysat Maegan for me. Granny, Nana and their other Papaw went too. This was so neat, Sarah I wish you could have been there.. but here are some pics, let me know whatcha think. ;) After the banquet, Granny treated us to Pizza Hut! Thanks, Granny!!

Now tell the truth.. does Maegan look like a little "She-Devil"? ... or.. is it just me? *laughs*

Later...Dad had a big smile for me. :)

Since the girls report cards were so good.. the report at the teachers conference was wonderful...their behaviour excellent as well.. we took the girls to the park after school. Needless to say they did a great job...and they'll both be passing to their next grades come fall! Yay!! Congratulations, Mik & Mal!! You are AWESOME!!

And Maegan kept Dippy running...

She asked for a LOT of ice cream.. so I gave it to her!

Think she had enough ice cream?
Report Cards are due on Thursday... the Dance Kitten's Banquet is on Friday.. Spring Break starts Monday...and the last day of school for the year is May 24!! Yay!
Sheesh.. Bonnie rented this the other day and then left it here for me to watch, which I did night before last.. and it scared the shit out of me. About half way into it I almost turned it off.. but then I couldn't - I had to see what happened to those women.
These women get stuck in an unmapped, undiscovered cave in Tennessee. That in itself is enough to make a nightmare movie...but on top of it, there's these ugly slimy looking albino like starving monsters in there waiting on them.
Talk about feeling hopeless but it just left me feeling terribly hopeless for them.. no way out.. but the critter's derrier after digestion. Shew! I thought about it off and on today, and tonight I had Dippy watch it. *laughs* He jumped out of his socks in several scenes and when it was over.. he sulked before going to bed, telling me, "If I have nightmares tonight it's ALL YOU'RE FAULT!"
I'm sorry, Dippy, if you have nightmares, it's all BONNIE'S fault!
Maegan has learned to climb the ladder up onto the slide, and slide down.. all by herself!!

So pleased with herself!! Yay!! You go, Maegan!!

She won't slide down facing us, she has to turn and slide down on her tummy. *laughs* I think she's scared.. but she'll get the hang of it.. She's growing up too fast!
I painted the girl's dollhouse the other day. It's pink. I don't mean a shy pink either.. I mean a pink that screams all the way to Lexington and back.. "I'M PINK!!!!"

There was no music.. she just.. felt like dancing. *laughs* She must keep the music in her head!

How 'bout that!! The lil rascal is due October 16! I can't wait!!!!

*laughs*
You thought I meant Mik, Mal and Mae, did'n'cha!!
This is just my opinion. It goes in the Peculiar Thoughts section of my journal. I've had this thought off and on since I talked to my Nephew Bobby on the phone a month or so ago. These are things I wish I'd said to him. Then I got to thinking. These are things I'd tell any 16 year old, if I could.. if they would listen. I think.
I wonder how quickly your first 16 years have passed to you. Lightening fast, I'd think.. think back to the first thing you can remember, then think about the person you are now, and then tell me, how quick did you get from there.. to now.
I don't think the big question in your life at this point should be "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Instead, I think it should be "Where do you want to be when you're 32?" Because you're halfway there. It sounds like a long long time away, just saying it.. hey, when I'm 32.. wow.. that's a zillion years from now. But.. it's not. You've already lived halfway to it. You're halfway there. Think about how fast those first 16 years of your life have passed. How much faster do you think the next 16 years will go by?
Am I telling you that at 16, you're already running out of time? No. I'd say the time for knowing you're pretty much doing what you're going to be doing for the rest of your life will hit you at about age 19.. maybe 20.
So where do you want to be when you're 32? There are basically two places you can be in by the time you're 32. You can be a landlord, or you can be a renter. In other words, you can own your home.. or you can rent. Where do you want to be? You can be the fella who owns the swimming pool, or you can be the guy who cleans other folk's swimming pools. Which do you prefer?
You are halfway there.
You can be the person who hires others to do his or her grunt work.. or.. you can be the person who does that grunt work. Two choices. It's truly as simple as that.
Once you decide where you want to be.. then you can work on 'what' you want to be, to help you get to where you want to be. Can you get where you want to be by flipping burgers? Working in a department store? Or will you only be able to achieve a fraction of where you'd like to be by working 3 minimum wage jobs?
I can't see anyone answering that they want to be the grunt.. they want to be the renter.
I don't want to see you be a grunt, I really don't. I'd like to see you be exactly where you want to be, when you're 32. I want to see that you have it all.
The only way you're going to get there, realistically, is to get your high school deploma. Then get yourself through college. It sounds like a lot of work, I know. So much time studying, when you could be out there working.. experiencing life. Again.. remember. What you're doing when you're in your early 20's is pretty much what you're going to be doing for the rest of your life.
The rest of your life.
Please, please darling.. stay in school. Ditch the friends who drag you down. (You know who they are, they're going to be cleaning your pool someday.)
Pull yourself up by the bootstraps, you're halfway there. 5 or 6 more years of school .. the drudgery, the work.. it's nothing compared to a lifetime of it.
Please.. be the one smart one who really sits and thinks about this. Be the one.
You can do it.
Like I said.. this is just my opinion. *coughs*
I went over and spent the day with Mom and Papaw today. He's doing pretty well. When it got to be close to time to go get the girls from school, I just asked him if he wanted to ride over there with me to get them. I never dreamed he'd say yes.. but he did.
He wasn't dressed up to go visiting, but once he got outside where it was so pretty he took the visiting bug. He said if it's nice tomorrow he'd like for me to go get him and take him out to see family he's not seen in a while. I told him I'd be there, he stressed though, "If it's pretty." *laughs* He doesn't wanna be out in the car with me if it's raining.
On our way back from picking up the girls, we stopped and got an ice cream at Dairy Queen, and that lady piled it on.. I swear, if they weren't a foot tall, they weren't an inch.. I never saw cones that big before. He had it all over his face, his chin, he looked like a big kid. Mik and Mal got a kick out of that. We brought Mom back a banana split, but I don't know if she ever ate it or not.. I think it was pretty much melted before we got it home to her.

Egads they get mad at each other a lot! I need to do another collection of "crying" now that they're bigger. Maegan has gotten to where she fights back now. And she holds her own. She whipped up on Mallory today over a doll out in the doll house, Mallory came crying to me, "Mammy! She pinched me!" and sure enough there were red marks on Mallory's throat. It was a really good thing I clipped Maegan's nails yesterday or I think she'd have drawn blood. Next thing I knew here came Joel.. "Mammy!! I'm beat up!" "What do you mean you're beat up!" "Maegan beat me up, she pinched me!" I had to finally seperate the lil doll from the others. It's time though, they've all tormented her since she learned to walk.. bigger, faster, stronger, they pretty much pushed her around. Not anymore.. now I have to keep my eye on her.. Egads!
Fed Ex brought the dresses today, thanks, Sarah, they're beautiful!! You should have seen Mallory swirling around in hers.. I think instead of shoes that glitter, she needs glass slippers. How pretty!
I had them take their baths after Maegans, and by the time they finished and got their pajamas on, Maegan had cheetos all over her, so I didn't try hers on.. I will tomorrow and post the pics.. but anyway, here's what I did get. Enjoy!

I got more of Mik, but for some reason, the photos wouldn't all download from my camera. *whines* I need a new one again! Hehe!
Contrary to what some folks believe, Papaw's home, doing well, he's not in the hospital, he's not in Tenbuktu or BFE.. but.. with the company he's been keeping lately.. I'd not be a bit surprised if he ends up in trouble with the law. He's been dressing like a punk and listening to his music WAY too loudly.. and what an attitude he's copped lately!

Mik listening raptly while Nick told her a ghost story...

If I could go back in time, and hold you safe in my arms,
I would.
If I could just read one more rainy day story book, Pooh and Christopher Robin enjoying a gusty windy day,
I would.
If I could sing one more song, softly into your ear, smoothing the fine hair from your brow,
I would.
If I could just scoop you up for a gigantic hug, twirl you in the air to hear shrieks of laughter,
You better believe it, my love, yes, I would.
If I could keep you from growing, from leaving, from going out into the world on your own,
I wouldn't.
While I loved the little you with all of my heart, I like knowing the grown you too,
I do.
You've been gone one year, today. Seth - I miss you terribly.
We got your message on the machine when we got home tonight. Has it been 3 days since you've heard from the girls? Time flies, doesn't it? I tried to get them to call you back tonight 3 times, but they were busy playing and before we knew it was late. Maybe tomorrow, eh?
There's a stretch of road up by Mom's.. full of yellow ribbons. Every time I go, there are more ribbons. Mom ran into someone who said the reason is.. the woman who is putting them there has a son in Iraq.. she puts a ribbon on the guardrail every day that he's there..and said she will keep doing it until he comes home. God bless them.

Mallory saw the pediatric dentist yesterday...she said that the other dentist shouldn't have put that filling in her tooth.. it was absessed, and the filling was right on a nerve. She couldn't save it, so she pulled it and filled 2 others. Mallory didn't mind at all, the tooth fairy brought her 10 bucks for it. How 'bout that?
Doesn't this pic envoke one of the lonliest feelings in the world?

Medicines seem to work in reverse with Mallory.. here she is taking some "Grumpy Gas!

Mik was sick that day so she didn't go.. but Mal did. :)

We heard about Kelly's grandmother at about 2 this afternoon, so we decided to go get Joel for a while so they could go be with Kelly's Mom and his Sister. It was less than an hour until school let out, so we went ahead and picked up the girls a little early, and we took them to my Mom's to ride the 4 wheeler. That sun was so warm.. it was just so nice out there, we had to go play for a while.

It was so heartwarming to be able to spend fun time with all 4 kids. The weather was perfect, the little ones were in such good moods...

I just found myself melting whenever one of them would run up and hug me, or when I'd hear one of them laugh. I felt so rich.. like I truly have everything on this Earth I could possibly need. I couldn't want for anything else..

The bus ran shortly after we got there, and even Nick came down and played with us some. He likes riding the 4 wheeler.. I do too! I just kept thinking how blessed I am to be alive, healthy and able to share being with these kids like this. How cool that I get to watch them grow every day.. be such a huge part of their lives.
We played there for a couple of hours, but then we had to go home, because the girls have homework, had to have dinner, that kind of stuff.. get ready for school tomorrow.. but it was still so nice, I let them play in the yard for a while.
They were enjoying this change in weather so much, I just had a hard time killing the mood by making them come inside and get ready for tomorrow...

Joel and Fudge were practically inseperable. That dog sure does love Joel. :)
Even that touched my heart - watching my grandson playing with our dog. Everything felt so warm, so cozy... I began to get all prideful.. thinking to myself.. Juel, you have the most beautiful.. the most perfect Grandchildren on the planet, you are truly a lucky woman.. so blessed, so rich...

Mikyla was doing cheers... Mallory was doing gymnastics on the swingset..Maegan was busy doing EVERYThing.. I began to count the blessing of their health. They're all doing so well.. it made me happy to watch them playing, I was just in a sentimental, soft, mushy mood and it was just getting more mushy as the evening came to a close. I don't know.. I get that way sometimes... but hey, look at the pics. I really am blessed. I just couldn't seem to put the camera down...

That light in Maegan's eyes! That smile. She's a beautiful little girl.. growing so fast. As fast as the others.

Perfect. My grandchildren are perfect in every way. I stood there watching them.. with a lump in my throat. I'm a woman who couldn't possibly ever ask for anything more. I know that. I knew it as I stood there. In this world, if there's one person who cares...who really loves us... we're truly lucky. To have these 4 beautiful, healthy, intelligent little ones in my life who love me unabashedly. I couldn't ask for anything more...
And then...

Maegan gave me a booger.
...crossed over today. Kelly, I'm so sorry for your loss.. I know how much she meant to you, will always mean to you. God bless you and Ashley, please tell her if there's anything we can do to let us know.
...was chosen as student of the month! They only pick about 9 or 10 a year, so this is a way cool event! WAY TO GO MALLORY!!!!!!!!

Lisa took the girls out last night and they did some shopping. She bought them several new outfits for school, and they looked so pretty this morning.
How do you like this!

Thanks Lisa, that was awfully nice of you.. they look awesome!!
We go to Mom's sometimes and pick up the sticks from her yard that the wind blows down, and we use them for kindling here in the fireplace. Maegan loves to go help gather them, but she doesn't like to put them in the basket. She just walks around holding them, saying, "Mine!" *laughs*

He's had a virus the past few days and hasn't felt well.. but he's doing better now.

Bonnie and Kelly and Joel came over. They brought a really pretty glass Chess set that she'd bought at the Dollar Store for 5 bucks. They sat at the kitchen table and played some...Kelly explaining to Bonnie how to play, and he kept beating her. She said, okay, play Mom.. but I was intimidated.. he kept winning against her, and I hadn't played in the real world in years...and online.. I've only won maybe 3 games out of 500.
I suggested getting a pizza, Joel was on my lap and he heard me tell Bonnie that I was on a Pizza kick... he piped up and said, well I want cookies... I'm on a cookie kick. *laughs*
After we ate, Bonnie talked me into playing Kelly a game of Chess, she wasn't gonna quit until he'd beaten me soundly, so sighing, I agreed and we set up the board and amazingly, I *coughswhippedhimseverelycoughs* won!
*snoopy dances!*
Papaw taught me to play years and years ago when I was a kid. But... he won't play now. I think he's chicken, don't you?
Sarah sent me some really cool photos of Evergreen Cemetary there in Gulfport, and I was supposed to post them tonight but I didn't get time. I'll try to get them up tomorrow. Here's a little taste...

Thanks, Sarah!
Mom! Call me in the morning when you get up!
Okay, it's late.. gotta get some sleep. G'nite world!
The Cat In the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2 were at the library today - and the kids got to go have pictures made with them, and they got to pick out a free book.. do a project, have a snack and they got a book read to them. They had a really good time too!

Mallory and Joel did some collages for their craft.. Mikyla made a hat, and they painted Maegan's feet and stamped the print on her little book. That was cute as can be.. Maegan couldn't figure out what the heck they were playing with her feet for!
How cool was that?!
