... of journal entries.. this Journal is getting hard to leave posts in, I think maybe the file's full. I'm gonna have to try to make another one. Wish me luck!
Thinking about you today Jana, can't wait to find out how you're doing. Hurry Back!
*paces and waits some more*
Miss Thang got her driver's license today, on the first try!!

Please, please please, Ashley honey, drive safely! We love you and would like to keep you around for a very very long time! Congratulations!!!!!!!!
had a really tough time picking up and carrying this life sized (bigger than her) Barbie doll. However, she figured out a way!

*laughs* Mom and I got a kick out of that!
We went to Mom's today and took Papaw a cake. Maegan got to give it to him, she loves that. Then of course she gives him a few high-5's, then she gets some of his candy or chips. He loves seeing her, his face brightens up and he just smiles. He had a really good day today.

Mikyla cheats! Every time I jumped her, I'd put her checker in the box beside us.. she'd take it out and put it back on the board! Not only that.. she placed it so that she could get a good double jump and take my checkers.. and she did this with such a straight face! The Cheater!
a Reese Cup today. He didn't eat it though, said he'd just had some Cheese Curls. He looked good, but I forgot to take my camera. Maybe tomorrow I'll remember it. :)
..had me laughing so hard last night. He goes with Dips to the grocery store sometimes. I write Dips a list and he goes to get what I want.
Kelly said he knows why it takes Dippy so long to get home when I send him to the store. He said I don't group items together on the list.. and Dippy doesn't read the list to see what he needs say.. in produce.. or in canned foods.. he follows the list to the letter.. one item at a time, right in a row.
*laughs*
So if I have a list that's like this..
milk
bread
eggs
coke
diet coke
cheese
saur kraut
tomatos
bologna
green onions
garbage bags
lucks soup beans
Dips will go for the milk first, then to bread aisle, then back to the dairy foods for the eggs, then to the pop aisle, then all the way back to the dairy foods for the cheese, and will NOT deviate from the list. Kelly said when he was with him the other night.. Dips got tired about after the 5th trip across the store and back for this or that, he shook the list at Kelly.. hit it with the back of his hand and said, "See what takes so long? She has EVERYTHING scattered all over this list!!! Nothing's in order!!"
I lost it when Kelly told me that, I laughed so hard I hurt my tummy! Kelly said it's all he can do to keep from grabbing the list, GIVE ME THAT!! Then get the stuff himself in one stop per section.
I'll have to remember not to scatter things anymore!
Last week, I watched and he levitated across 2 buildings.. just as pretty as you please, there he was floating from one roof to the other. Last night.. I watched as he put some screwdrivers sharp end up in a row.. the center of this row lined in glass.. and he walked spang across the screwdrivers.. and didn't even impale his feet! The audience was mystified. Bah! They just don't watch closely enough. He didn't walk on those things, he LEVITATED! *laughs*
That guy is neat to watch.. I don't know how he does the magic tricks, but he's pretty dang good at it!
and talk to Papaw a while this evening while the kids were playing outside. He didn't want any supper, said there wasn't anything I could get for him. I sat there in the chair and settled back then glanced at him and he was looking at me with this big-eye'd quizzical expression. Here's the conversation.
Me: Papaw, are you alright?
Papaw: Yeah? (Like maybe he was but he wasn't sure...)
Me: Did you have a good day today?
Papaw: Yeah it was alright, it weren't a bad day...
Me: (after watching him stare at me with those big eyes) Papaw, do you know who I am? (I thought he was confused.. he wasn't saying anything, just looked like he wanted to ask something..)
Papaw: (With this new look like "now what the hell does that mean" expression on his face) Uh.. yeah I know who you are.. (his face finished his sentence.. do you know who the hell you are?)
Me: (Sure he's confused and it's gonna be a bad evening) Ok then, who am I?
Papaw: (blinking and now getting a tad irritated with me) Look. I know what I know, and I know who I know, so don't think I don't know, cuz I do know!
Me: (trying not to laugh now) I know you know, surely you know, but tell me anyway... cuz I don't know..
Papaw: Juel, cut the shit..
*laughs*
Turns out, I was the confused one.. I got tickled and forgot that he'd looked like he wanted to ask me something, which was what started that conversation in the first place. Poor man, he must think I'm such a ditz.. he never did ask ever what it was.. he probably figured I was too confused to answer him any damned way!
To all you Dads out there. I hope you get lots'a good gifts and plenty to eat and just get to laze around all day long!
NO CHORES TOMORROW, SWEETHEART, NOT ONE!! I MEAN IT!!
Have a Good One, DAD!!!
She used the potty!!! YAY MAEGAN!!
I tried to find her some of those little terry-cloth training panties today, but there weren't any to be found! Please someone tell me they're not obsolete.. please tell me they've not been totally replaced by those Pull Ups diaper things..
those things are neat, but it's not the same as the little ones actually wearing their own little panties.
I betcha she's potty trained by the end of summer!
*snoopy dances imagining a diaper free & diaper expense free life*
OH JOY!!!!
He didn't stay long, he was on his way to Tennessee. He looks lost without Midge. He brought us all something of Midges, I didn't get a photo of mine, but it's a beautiful figurine of a guardian angel watching over 2 small children. I'll always treasure it. Too, he said he would be sending me and Lisa one of Midge's rings. That was nice, Thanks, Don.
He asked me again to be sure to do Midge's site.. and he tried to give me 200 bucks to cover the cost of the web hosting. I wouldn't take it, just asked him if he was sure he wanted it done, he said yes he was sure, so I'll post the pics as soon as I can. I'm glad he wants them here. Thanks Jennene for sending them to me, I just wanted to be sure it was what Don wanted before I put them up.
Bonnie and Kelly were here this evening, Joel's fine, he was in high gear.. all the kids were in high gear as you can see by the pics of them on the swings. I came in to cook dinner, 2 minutes later, they were all 4 running in a circle around the kitchen table - laughing and yelling at each other in an earnest game of tag, but i don't care of i catch ya or not - and I thought I was gonna lose my ever lovin' mind.
I had hot grease on the stove, frying cornbread, Maegan tripped and was crying.. Mallory was laughing and growling, Joel was repeatedly asking for a "Hot Tart" - Mikyla was laughing, I finally ran them out! Get OUT! And I pointed to the door.. go outside with the others while I cook! They went, but in 5 minutes were back in and they just managed to get louder and louder, and by 10 I was trying to catch them to bath them and get them into bed.
Some smarty pants *coughsbonniecoughs* drew a picture and left it for me on one of the refrigerator magnets.

*laughs* She really has talent, I held it up beside me at the mirror while ago.. it's an EXACT likeness!! How does she do that!
There was a whole lotta playin' goin' on!

Mal was tired of riding Maegan around..

...who isn't feeling so well lately... please remember her in your prayers!
I can't remember the dates I took these, but anyway, here are some pics of Papaw from this past week.
Look at the size of those onions!

Here's how you eat corn:

Maegan thought it was Papaw's turn to have some candy...

I took him some chicken wings from KFC yesterday, he could only eat a couple of them, then today I took him some vanilla wafers. He gave Mallory one, but then he told Mom to put them away, he said he just couldn't take anything to eat today. Maybe tomorrow...
These were on the camera, I had forgotten I'd even taken them. Psh.. I have CRS.

...what to write about tonight. The girls and Joel are doing fine.. he's set to go have the stitches taken out of his little foot tomorrow. That 10 days sure did fly. It was too windy and cool for me to go swimming today, but Mik and Mal stayed in the water. Those two are part fish!
Sarah made it back to Mississippi safely and I talked to her this evening.. she said she'd been swimming in the river today, that it had been very hot there. She also said there's no work yet. Ugh. I don't understand why her boss would call them to come back for no work. That doesn't make any sense to me.
I went to see Papaw earlier tonight, he's about the same. I always take something for him every time I go... I hadn't thought he noticed that, but one day a few weeks ago I went in and didn't take him anything, he looked at me and said "What did you bring me today?" *laughs* I learned right then not to go back empty handed. I took him some juice tonight but he said for me to put it in the fridge, that maybe he'd have some later. He's still insisting something's sitting on the end of the bed. I don't know what it is, but he's asked every one of us if we see it, can we move it.. that sort of thing. That's just so eerie. I haven't taken any pictures in a few days, I haven't taken the camera off the charger. I'm not sure why, I usually have it in my hand constantly, I think I just have been too busy to think about the camera and pictures.
Mikyla bought Mom's house from her tonight.. and everything in it. I think she told Mom she could have her clothes and a little bit of the food out of the cabinets, but everything else stays. That was funny. She's gonna be a banker. :)
Last night, we were all in the den watching tv.. Mallory and Joel wanted cookies, and then of course they wanted milk to dunk the cookies in. The only thing was.. they didn't want it in the kitchen, they wanted it in the den, so I wouldn't let them have it.. they spill it and make the awfullest messes.. so I heard Mal whisper to Dips.. "Don't you need a little milk to drink, Dippy?" Directly I watched quietly as he got up and went to the kitchen for a small cup of milk. The sneaks. At least they were careful so they wouldn't get caught.. and they didn't make a mess!
Well, the babies are sleeping.. even Maegan's fallen to sleep in my bed. ON MY PILLOW! *sighs* I need my own room. *laughs* no wait, this IS my own room, they just TOOK it! Little pirates. I guess I'm gonna go try to get Maegan into her crib without waking her up. Wish me luck. G'nite world!
is supposed to be executed on June 26.. they still plan on doing it.. and I think they should. The guy he killed didn't have a chance to die of natural causes, why should this guy?
The girls have been enjoying their summer vacation.. the weather is odd though, it was too cool to swim much until today. Today it was breathtakingly hot, yet the wind just blew hard, rustling the leaves in the trees, bending them, making them sway.. it felt like a storm was coming, but the sky was blue and the sun was relentless... way strange weather.
Joel is doing just fine, his foot is healing nicely, and he's crawling everywhere he wants to go. He's allowed to walk on it now, but he refuses. I guess it probably hurts, or he expects it to and he's not about to take a step on it. I can't say as I blame him!
Mik, Mal and Nick have a little spot at Mom's where they planted some pepper plants, I hope they grow 10 feet tall and have gigantic peppers on them!

Mom called me day before yesterday morning, she said Papaw wasn't doing well at all - he was moaning, carrying on in pain, just doing poor, feeling miserable. I hate it when he's feeling like that, and I dreaded the day for him. I got busy here and in a couple of hours she called and Juel, you'll never dream what he's doing now. Tentatively I said, crying? I just expected him to be in a bad way.. but No.. he was sitting up in his chair, eating.
He'd woken up miserable, fallen to sleep again, then woke up feeling good and said he was so hungry he could eat a bear. Keep in mind he's not eaten much aside from some tomatos, a piece of potato and marshmallows since June 4. His last meal was on June 3, and he had roast beef then. Mom fixed him ham and eggs and toast and coffee and he cleaned his plate. He's something else. :)
(Hey! Ky went to safe cigarettes, I must have one now.. cuz while I was typing this I forgot I was smoking and when I picked it up it was out.. it happened twice now with this cigarette, how neat.. and I can't even tell a difference in the taste!)
Anyway, here are some pics of him enjoying his meal..
Sarah visited with him and I got a pic, he seemed to enjoy that visit.

I didn't get many pics of the girls the past few days, I'll post some soon, I've just been busy and will have to stop slacking. I'm so lazy!
I saw something this evening. I was sitting out back with Sarah, we were just talking away and then I glanced over towards the neighbors backyard. It's a hill, and beside their hill, their other neighbors just did a lot of dozier work. They took down all the trees on their hill, and had the dirt taken out to make their backyard bigger. The result is that I can't see the woods there anymore, just a steep section of incline where the hill has been cut.
There on top of that steep incline was something that looked about 8 feet tall from where I sat. It was walking very fast on two feet, hunched over a little bit at the waist, and covered from head to foot in long white hair that turned darker, to gray from its torso on town its legs. I sat there quietly studying it, not really registering what I was seeing. It was big. I'm guessing 400 pounds or more big. And fast. My mind raced the full half a minute it took it to get from the start of the incline on into the woods and gone. What the hell was that? A Sasquatch! A Bigfoot! Those things are bullshit aren't they? But it sure did look like a werewolf from the old black and white movies. Must be someone in a Halloween suit. But it was so big. Do we have white bears around here? But it was walking on two legs. Upright. So fast.
Before I could speak, Sarah did.. "Mom what the hell was that?"
"Did you see it too?" I wasn't ready to talk about it, I was still watching the woods behind my own house, I was curious to see if the thing would come out back into our garden.
There's a monster in your backyard.
About that time, Bonnie and Kelly showed up and we just went around front to greet them - I walked up on the porch and then looked at Sarah. I figured my old eyes must have played a trick on me, so I asked Sarah what it was she saw back there. I didn't tell her what I saw, I wanted to see if we matched.
We did. She saw the same thing. How curious. Bonnie was chomping at the bit to get up in the woods, she wanted to see if she could see it. She grumbled about being pregnant and always missing out on seeing the good stuff. We sat out back on the patio for hours to see if it would come back, but it didn't.
I figure ever what it was wasn't aware the woods there are gone.. it had no choice but to walk spang out in the open where we could see it. I don't know what it was, but I sure don't wanna run into it out back in the dark.. all alone.
Yikes!
Sarah and Roy left Bon and Me out on the patio earlier, they took the girls to see Shrek 3 and they said it was a really good movie. I'll wait till it comes out on dvd to buy it. Ghost Rider comes out on dvd on the 12th.. it's a really good movie, I want to buy it for the girls, they loved it.
My sis:
Speaking of the girls, they're snoring. Sarah and Roy have gone fishing again.. I don't know when they'll be back but I'm not waiting up tonight. I'm tired.
G'nite World!
a patriotic American, or what? That flag was a dollar at the Dollar Max, I didn't know it was so big... well... sun glare from that window was making it hard to see the television ...so I hung up that monster flag and it works like a charm.. I can see the tv again...
. o 0 (ya might be a redneck....)
Bonnie had the Ultra Sound today, and got to know that the new baby is....
*big drum roll*
A BOY!!!!!
Congratulations, Bonnie & Kelly!!
*coughs*I still say it's a girl and her name's gonna be Kelsey!*coughs*
I got this one at Joel's birthday party while he was opening his presents, look right over Maegan's head a little.. What do you think these things are?
Click this photo to see the larger picture.

His 4th birthday was the 2nd of June, and Bon had his party over here. He had a really good time and got lotsa presents, thank you everyone for coming and making his day so special!

Happy Birthday, Joleybean, glad you had a good one! I love you!
The tub of ice cream she's eating is bigger than she is...

They like to nightswim too..

Every one of these kids love the water!
Mom wasn't about to leave Mallory out, so she got her a new bike too. Here it is..

Thanks, Mom, that was pretty cool!!
I'm sorry I've not had time to post any of these the past few days, Sarah has been here and we've been pretty busy.
Papaw May 31, 2007

Today:

He likes it when Nick shaves him - he says Nick does it better than anyone else!

Poor Joel.. I don't get to do a lot of things with him because I have the girls here with me most of the time, and I can't seem to spend the time with him that I'd like sometimes. Today, Sarah took Mallory and Maegan with her, I had Joel and Mikyla and I thought cool.. I'll take the two of them to Mom's to swim. If I'd had all the girls I couldn't take Joel, cuz I can't handle 4 in the pool.
We grabbed our suits, put them on and headed to Mom's.. and the kids dived right in. I touched that water with my toe and pulled it out right fast, that water was COLD! I sat on the deck and watched the kids play until Joel's teeth started chattering. I told him to get out, it was cold and he'd had enough, he told me he 'needed' to swim more.

I wish I'd let him. Instead I insisted he get out, wrapped him in a towel, then started out behind the house to talk to Mom while she planted her tomato plants.

Nick went around and got his bike, came over to where Joel, Mik and I were sitting and Joel got up and went to Nick wanting up on that bike with him. Nick picked him up, put him on the bar in front of him...something I've done with kids a zillion times...but Joel turned to look back at something and he took a nosedive off of the bike.
Nick caught Joel, before he could hit his head, but Joel was trying to balance himself and shoved his foot into the spokes of the front tire, his fall nudged the bike forward, his foot got caught, I screamed for Nick not to move the bike, and oh my God, that baby cut a gash in his foot that looked like he'd cut his foot plum off. It scared us all to death.
All I could think to do was grab him up and run for the car, the hospital's 5 minutes away and I knew I had to get him there.
He ended up getting 14 stitches. The xray showed no broken bones, he missed his tendon and no muscles were hurt, thank GOD!! I've never seen a more strange accident, didn't know a spoke on a bike could do something like that, but I tell ya, I don't like bikes anymore. I never dreamed anything like that could happen, and I feel awful. Poor Nick, I thought he was gonna have a heart attack.
Joel's doing fine though, he was in the E.R. less than an hour, stitched up and on his way here to get all the sufferin' toys we had for him. He has to stay off his foot for 48 hours, and will get the stitches out in 10 days. What a day.
