The Train Ride

We went with the girls to Stearns Kentucky yesterday on a field trip. We got to ride a train into the mountains to an old mining camp, and have lunch. What fun!

Here are the pics. ..

Mother's Day

Mom rolled Lisa's table clothe backwards and let Maegan draw on the underside, ohhh they were sneaky at it. Maegan wasn't sure how to react to that, but with Mom's encouragement she drew a perfect happy face..and Lisa wont even know it's there!

This pic of Joel's from Bonnie, I love it!

I didn't get pictures of my Mother's Day gifts, but I will. I got the washer, I already posted pics of that, but Mik and Mal gave me flowers, Mom gave me an herb garden and a wind chime, Nick gave me 6 solar lights, (so neat!) and Lisa gave me a hanging flower - Bridal's Vail, and Bonnie brought me the prettiest porcelean angel. Thank you everyone!

Mallory's Earrings

She kept asking to have her ears pierced. But Walmart wont do it unless there's a parent present to sign a release form, and Mal's mom isn't around. (We knew Sarah was okay with it because she and Mom took Mik to get hers done and tried to get Mal to do hers at the same time, but Mal didn't want to then...) So... we bought the piercing gun, she picked out the earrings she wanted and Lisa pierced her ears. They looked great, didn't they?

They looked so nice, Maegan wanted hers done too, so Lisa pretended to do them and put on some old fashioned clip earrings she had...

I cleaned Mal's ear lobes before school Monday morning, she wanted her hair pulled back so her friends could see her beautiful pink earrings, and then when she came home, she was fluttering around, hands going, worried scared eyes,
"Mammy, my ears turned blue in school! My teacher said these earrings have to come out! Take them out! Please!"

I looked, and they looked fine to me, and I asked her if they hurt, she said no, but she still insisted they'd said her ears were blue, TAKE THEM OUT!

So.. I took them out. Her lobes were purple.. the marker in the piercing kit was purple.. when I cleaned them with the solution that morning, it made the marker run - made her lobes look blue to her friends. Love her heart.

She went back to school without her earrings Tuesday, explained to her teacher that it was just the marker, and her teacher said, yes, it was only the marker Mallory. Sheesh.. so then Mal wanted them put back in. Noway! She's gonna have to wait till she's a little older and a little less prone to panic. Poor runt!

Meanwhile, Mik's wearing the kind that will have her lobes stretched to her knees when she's older. *laughs* I told her she can only wear these once a year!
