Joel is going to school now.. pre-school.. and today when Bonnie went to pick him up she said his teacher came and sat down beside her. She said she felt the teacher wanted to talk because she hadn't sat by any of the other parents, so she started a conversation.. said she asked the teacher if Joel's doing alright in school.
The teacher said, Oh yes, he does fine, but he has one problem we're working on now.. He has a hard time listening to us.. she told Bonnie that they have a "listening" chair that the children have to sit in when they're not listening to what they're supposed to be doing then she asked Bonnie if he listens good at home. Bonnie told her not too well.. that when she needs him to really listen she has to lean over and take her hand and hold it on his face and aim it at her own and tell him to 'listen', then he will. The teacher finished the conversation by telling Bonnie that "...Joel sits in the listening chair a lot."
They got up to leave, Bonnie took Joel by the hand and she said they got in the hall and she asked him... "Joel.. I hear you're having a hard time lis..."
Joel broke into her sentence nodding fast, replying before she could get out the word 'listening', "Yeah! I wanna go home and ride my car now!"
*laughs* He's a case!
