Easter 2008

What a wonderful Easter this was. The girls had such a good time.. everyone seemed content and happy. We all missed Dad but it wasn't a gloomy sad occasion, it was very nice. :)

Mom took the girls out last week and got them all three their Easter outfits, from their hats, down to their little shoes. They looked so pretty. I couldn't get over the itty bitty panty hose Mom found for Maegan.. honest to goodness panty hose. How sweet! Maegan loved how they felt on her legs. She likes to feel pretty. Thanks MOM, they looked like dolls today!

Dips and I got them big Easter baskets and we dyed the eggs last night. Mallory, leave it to Mallory, I'd have never thought to do this - she insisted we go get carrots and leave them on the table for the Easter Bunny.. and the bunny musta been hungry too, cuz they were all gone this morning and a thank you note was laying on the empty plate!

We were supposed to go out to eat, but Lisa decided to cook instead - the weather was supposed to get bad and we didn't want to get out in that. Dinner was delicious, that table couldn't hold any more food. Thanks, LISA, that was GOOD!

Lisa and Mom gave them baskets chock full of candy and stuffed bunnies and toys - playing cards, they LOVED their stuff.. Maegan's had the cutest little bunny ears hair band in it, and a little purse.. adorable things!

I sure appreciate you both for helping me give these kids the things they'd otherwise not have. I love you both, thank you. No one else bothers, no one else takes the time to look and see. I'm glad that you two do, thank you so much. The girls thank you too! :)

We hid eggs at Lisa's.. and Mikyla found the prize egg.. it had 20 bucks inside!! I want a prize egg like that!! Thanks Lisa & Nick!
Mallory found the 2nd place prize egg, and that one had 10 bucks inside!! I woudln't mind finding one like that either! Maegan found one too and danged if hers didn't have 10 dollars in it, and then to top it off, since Maegan found the most eggs, she got 5 dollars for that! Boy did they make out like bandits!

Mom bought me a coffeecup with a chocolate rabbit and the cutest little fiber optic easter egg tree, and Lisa gave me a solar plant, cutest thing that has 5 lighted flowers in it.. Thanks for everything, both of you!

After we left Lisa's we went to Bonnie's for an egg hunt. We gave Tristan and Joel and Bon and Kelly chocolate rabbits, and Mom and Lisa sent Tristan and Joel the cutest easter baskets, with a cowboy hat, stuffed animals, candy and chocolate, a foot ball.. the boys really liked their things, thanks yet again, Lisa and Mom. We didn't stay there long, maybe ten minutes, it was sooo cold and it was getting late. I kinda wish I'd taken some extra rabbits and snuck to the girls from Bonnie, Mik looked around and Mal was looking to see if they had a gift, but there wasn't one for them there - but even so, Mikyla got in her own basket and took out more chocolate to give to Joel What a doll! :) When we got home Maegan was so tired she climbed up on my bed and took a nap. Talk about a nice day, it really was a good one.

Their mom and dad called tonight at bedtime to see how their Easter went. They didn't talk long, but that was a nice treat for the girls - they haven't heard from them since last Sunday, so they enjoyed that. They didn't send them anything, but said that after they fix their truck they'll send them money for a puppy, and a trip to Disneyland. How cool is that?

Their Nana called too today, about 11:30 this morning, to see what our plans were for the day, and what time we'd be where. She said she'd like to see them, but wasn't sure if she was going to be able to because she's sick. She's been vomiting and had diariah.. and didn't want to give it to the girls, but if she felt better she'd come see them later tonight. We never did catch up with her, I guess she's still feeling bad. I'm glad though that we didn't catch up with her, not glad that she's sick, I really didn't want the girls to get sick again and they catch everything coming and going. When we do catch up with her, she's not gonna recognize the girls, she's not seen them since Christmas. She's going to be amazed at how much Maegan's grown!

I did get a few pics..

The girls know that Easter isn't just about dyed eggs, chocolate rabbits and gifts, but is a celebration of the resurrection of Christ. They like the gifts, no, they LOVE the gifts - but they love to give too. Their eyes were shining as they passed out the things we bought everyone else - they shared their candy and toys. They're good girls. Giving, loving girls. I'm so proud of them. I hope you all had a safe and Happy Easter. I love you all. Good night. :)

Things Maegan Says

Just things she's picked up.. somewhere.

Stupid-head.

She'll reach out, tap our heads (rather hard) and before we can protest she says, "That's not hurt you!"

If she goes into a dark room, she protests, "HEY! Turn on the light! I can't see my eyes!!"

"Mallory hit me, pank her!"

"Mommy Mikyla hit me, pank her!"

(She loves to tattle)

My very favorite though is what she says during bedtime hugs. I go to Mal first, then to Mikyla.. Maegan always pipes up and says, "Hey! What about me!?"

Maegan sweety, I tell her, It's all about you.

Mercy I do love these girls.

Spirit Week

The girl's school is having spirit week. Again. Didn't they just have that? Pajama day, crazy hat day? Has it been a year already? Mallory said she doesn't want to wear pajamas to school, it makes her feel weird, but Mik wants to, says it's comfortable. I could have SWORN they already did this this year. It sucks to be old and confused.

Friday was yo-yo day. Some profesional yo-yo'er came in and demonstrated all the fun things to do with yo-yo's and the kids got to buy one, 10 bucks each.. and too, it was book fair(y) day. So they had to have money for that - Mal got a book, Mik got a Hannah Montana poster. I'd forgotten to send yo-yo money so Dips took it in about noon, and they took him to the office, showed him the different yo-yo's, and he bought the two big girls their yo-yo's, and asked if he should take them to then right then, noooo please, the kids are driving their teachers nuts with them, take them home and give them to them later.. which he did. When they got home, showing us their books and poster, they were delighted with the yo-yo's they didn't know they had here, and Mallory immediately opened hers up, and for some reason, imitating Mr. Professional yo-yo'er, slung hers over her shoulder like she was about to lassoo a horse, konked poor Maegan beside her left eye. The poor kid has a yo-yo indentation bruise now.. but it's not as bad as it could have been, it's just a half moon, not the whole full YO-YO FULL MOON! What the heck were they and we thinking buying those kids yo-yo's, especially Mallory. lol.. egads!

They're put up now, until they can get outside and spaced out from each other.

Oh. And yeah, we have to get Maegan one too, she had a fit over her sister's.

Little Sneaky Pants...

Maegan has a secret stash of something, I don't know what, but I know she's not allowed, because she sneaks! My guess is, it's something like bubble gum or cinnamin discs. I love to watch her sneak, her little hand eases over towards the table by her bed..some paper rattles, then lightening fast her hand goes to her mouth then the covers go over her head. Then...ever so slowly, her cover falls and she looks around, we pretend not to be looking, the next thing I know the paper's rattling again. It's so funny... she's something else!
