Oh they crack me up. Yesterday I got so tickled at Maegan. She was in her car seat in the car and we were coming home from Lisa's. I heard Mallory picking at her, just general sister torment and suddenly she shrieked. I turned just in time to see Maegan pull her hand away, she'd pinched Mal's arm. Before I could scold her she glared at Mallory and said, "How'd that feel?" Mal stopped picking on her. *shakes head* She looks so sweet, so .. sweet. Not yet three, her little pony tails, long bangs, gentle blonde hair, those big blue eyes, she looks as harmless as a kitten, just so huggable. To be so rotten! She holds her own with the big girls now, I warned them this day was coming.
Mikyla is doing pretty good. She enjoys her swing and her ball goal and all the other toys on her favorites list... after school, the first thing she wants to do is shoot some hoops, then she wants to get on her computer and play on her Webkinz pages. She's sure looking forward to summer vacation. Before she can do anything here after school, whether it's playing outside or laying around inside, is to put on her pajamas. I'm gonna start calling her Hugh. I don't blame her though, I'm the same way, I'd rather wear pajamas than anything else.
Mallory is doing well too - she's gaining weight, she eats like a horse, anything and everything. She's doing pretty well with her reading, she's picked up so much. I'm proud of her. The reading came easy for Mikyla but Mal has really had to work hard to get where she's at. She's the instigator, and the tattler... she starts fights, then when the others fight back, she runs to tell me what they've done to her. She says things to crack me up all the time, and flashes those eyes, it's easy to spoil her, but mercy she can be as rotten as Maegan.
I watched Cloverfield the other night. Lisa said she was disappointed in it, but I liked it. But then I loved War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, and it's very similar.. it's kinda War of the Worlds meets 9-11 meets The Blair Witch Project.
Mom and Lisa and Nick came over for spaghetti tonight, Shan and Roy stopped by and brought Mik a birthday card, (thanks Shan, & Roy, she's spent that 20 bucks in her mind 100 times tonight - she wants to go buy another Webkinz tomorrow with it!)
Mom is doing good, she ate 2 plates of spaghetti, so she must have liked it. I think it's her turn to do dinner, don't you? Big Fat Pork Chops! She said at Lisa's yesterday she only has herself now, she'll come to our houses.. I told her she was mistaken, she has herself, Lisa, Nick, Me, Dips and these 3 girls, to get off her "lone" butt and get back in the kitchen. Pfttt only her indeed!
Carol, if you still read here, let me thank you again for the necklace you sent to Mikyla, that tickled her to death to get that package and the card. She sure does think the world of you - we all do. Thank you!
I guess I'm going to go now, get some sleep.. my eyes are getting heavy and 6:30 comes awfully early.
G'nite everyone! I love you all!
He's graduated from grade school - but they're not having a ceremony. They gave him a beautiful certificate though, Nick, I'm so proud of you, way to go!!
I can't believe he'll be graduating from High School in 4 years. Time has flown, and I know it's going to keep flying. He'll be driving, then grown and gone before we know it. Egads!

Oh man that was so good! Thanks for inviting us Lisa!!

Sarah mailed some gifts to Mikyla for her birthday and I got some pics of them with their presents.

Happy 8th Birthday!!!!!
I love you honey, and I hope you have a zillion more wonderful birthdays!!

Mom took all three of them to get a Webkinz the other day. Now Mal has 3, Mik has 5, and Maegan's got one. The kids are crazy about these little critters. Thanks, Mom, that was nice of you to do! I thought I got pics of the other girls with theirs but I didn't. I will though.
We had her party at the park Saturday, and she had a really good time.. I got a "few" pictures. *laughs* Lord this kid is growing up so fast.

Thanks, everyone, for making her day so special!
I hope you got your birthday card, and that you had a wonderful birthday! We tried to wait to see you but it was getting late and I had to get the kids home and ready for bed/school. We waited too late to hit the homework! Anyway, hope you had a good one! We love ya!!
Happy Birthday!
Oh how we missed you. I know you saw the goings-on around us today, I wonder what you thought of them? I think you'd have laughed and fondly called us "morons" - then you'd have taken a look at all the solomn faces and you'd have gotten firm. "Don't do that anymore, I mean it." I know you would have. I sure do miss you. We all do. How do we just stop remembering. We can't.. so we just get by the best way we know how. We are fine most times, sometimes, like today, it's heavy.
I bet you had an awesome day in Heaven. That thought makes this more bearable. I bet you're still asking questions and exploring. Just know Dad, that while we are happy for you that you're not here suffering or in pain, it's hard, way hard to let go. We'll meet again someday, until then, never forget that you're loved, and very missed down here. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Dad.

This one was taken a couple of days ago - Shannon brought Dad those pretty butterflies and the birthday balloons. Thanks, Shannon, that was nice of you!

It was a sad somber day. How could it have been other wise. On this day last year we were singing happy birthday to Dad while he was wearing a hula skirt. I'm glad today's over. I don't mean to wish time away, but it was a hard day.
...when most people are sleeping... Maegan is all wide awake, staring and begging me to let her get in my bed.. I say.. Maegan honey no, you have a new bed, go to sleep, I'm right here, shh and go to sleep.. she says..
But.. dayah's a pider in da window.
It wont bother you, spiders eat bugs.. shh go to sleep.
but.. it's just hangin' dayah.
So worried about something so creepy that's able to just...hang there like that, her voice is respectfully quiet, yet insistant.. mammy, I ain't sleepin over here thinking there's a spider in this window over my bed just hanging there, so get that sound of hope out of your voice.
Okay, come get in my bed honey. And that's that. Another ruler in the kingdom. I wish we had more than 1 peasant here, all these bosses are something else!
I love this dog. He's cute as can be. Wish I could find a little girl Peckinese too.

I got the girls a few things for spring, and Mom got Mik a couple of outfits too. Don't they look cute?

THANKS, MOM!!
Mikyla's friend had a birthday party all set for 6 tonight at the park - but she got stormed out. I've met her Dad but not her Mom. They're separated, so I was uncomfortable when they suggested coming to get Mikyla for a get together at the mother's boyfriend's place. Mik didn't get to go, but she wasn't upset. I think she wasn't really comfortable about going with strangers either. It's alright - we put the little girl's gifts up and Mik can take them to her at school on Monday.
Later, we went to Lisa's.. and Mom picked Mik up and took her out and bought her 2 new outfits for school. Thanks Mom, that was nice of you!
Maegan can count to 6 in spanish. She can count to 18 in English. She recognizes quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies and can point out them out by name. She's got a vocabulary of about a million words. (Seriously! She speaks in complete descriptive sentences now.) Flashcards - she can identify all the photos on the backs of the cards, we need to start working on the letters now. She is too smart for me. It's scary!
Mallory is doing fine, Lisa loaned her her PS2 with a Zelda game and told her she's in total charge of it. She can let Mikyla play it, or choose not to, it's up to her. Boy did she swell up all proud and honored.. so far she's guarding it like Fort Knox. Mik begged to play it, naturally Mal said no. It's caused some quarrelling but I just tell them I'm sorry, that was Lisa's deal with Mallory.. but then I reminded Mik that her birthday is coming up, and it's going to be up to her to either share her toys with Mallory, or not. I thought that would cause Mal to reconsider. It didn't. Mal turned up her nose at Mik and said she could just keep her old birthday toys. Sheesh.
Bon called tonight and let me hear the boys laughing and playing with each other. Joel had Tristan just cackling. Then one of them would screech and more cackling. They sure sounded like they were having a good time.
Nick made all A's on his report card this semester. I gave him 20 bucks for a reward. I think a 14 year old boy making straight A's is pretty cool! Way to go, Nick!!
We were at Mom's a couple of nights ago, and on the way home, I'll be danged if the police and ambulances weren't right past that bridge where that last wreck I posted about was. This time a red truck supposedly pulled out from a stop sign and rammed a couple of young guys who were coming down the straight on a 4 wheeler. That thing was upside down and at first I thought it was a car motor. I hear that the boys are going to be alright, although one had to be flown out to another hospital with some serious head trauma. I'm glad they're going to be okay - That was scary.
I heard some sad news about a high school friend of Lisa's. Lisa called the other night to tell me that she'd had Jenny on her mind for a couple of days so she called her mom to see if she could get Jenny's number. Bernice talked Lisa's head off and told her that she'd heard about Dad passing away, then told Lisa that Jenny's 23 year old son passed away too. A month after Dad. That really threw me, I can't imagine how Jenny's functioning. Lisa said she called her and Jenny's a wreck. Her son lived with her, and she said they were watching a movie and it went off at 11 that night, Jenny told him she had to get to bed that she had to get up early the next day to get her grandchild ready for school. He'd wanted to watch one more movie, she went on to bed and said she couldn't stand it, got back up and watched one more with him. Then she said she really had to go to bed, and did. She told Lisa that at 5 or so that morning, she and her husband both woke at the same time..and they went through to check to be sure everything was okay and they found him dead. He'd had a seizure in his sleep. That broke my heart to hear. I really hate that for them. Jenny, I'm so sorry. :*(
Please, remember my friend Jana and her Mom in your prayers...
Allen, I'm glad you didn't have to have the surgery after all - now get better so you won't need it in a couple of months!
Did I already mention getting a letter from school this week regarding Chicken Pox? The letter said they're going through the school, and if we notice them on our kids to keep them home, just call and let them know why. Dips said sure, we'll call. He said we'll call the Superintendent and make an appointment to take the girls to his office for a big old contageous hug for the Super's whole staff and the super himself for not closing the school before all the kids get it. That made me laugh, because I know him. He was stone serious.
Okay, that's all I have to write about tonight. Stay safe, love you all! G'nite!
Oregon is the only state I've noticed taking a positive stand against meth use. They use commercials to show people what happens when they use, how it gets you and wont let go, but mostly they use real images of meth addicts, over a period of time, showing how horrible they look, how obvious what they're doing is. This site:
Faces of Meth
allows free downloads of photos for use to show young people, anyone really, to keep them from trying this drug. I think it's a wonderful idea, I wish more states would be more aggressive in the fight against this drug. I know it's here in Kentucky, so much around here where we are, it's amazing, so I know it's elsewhere just as bad.
Can you imagine inhaling or ingesting draino or lighter fluid, or battery acid? Good Lord.. it's no wonder these people look like death barely warmed over.
The girl's doll house outside is full of toys. They can't get in and play for the toys. Yesterday Mallory got in there digging around and got out several things, a big fish for Maegan, and a ball they can sit on and bounce around in the yard. Maegan laid eyes on that ball and tore into Mallory with all the fury of a mountain lion. She was determined to get that ball. When we broke up the fight, we gave the ball back to Mallory, fair's fair, and just because Maegan wanted it didn't mean she should take it from Mal - Mal brought Maegan a toy too.. but anyway.. after Mal was finished with it she let Maegan have a turn, so peace was restored to the kingdom. :)

I'm sorry about the accident, I hope your surgery goes well today, and I'm so glad you weren't hurt worse than you were! We're going to be thinking about you and praying for you. Love you bunches!! Let me take a minute to say I'm proud of you for staying away from the pain pills, you're so right, it's things like this that lead to their abuse, don't take them if you don't need them, but mercy, you have to be in some major pain, THAT'S WHY THEY MAKE THEM! Hope to hear from Shannon soon to let us know how it's going!
Nick and I told Don we'd clear a path to the grave on the property next to Mom's, and since Don is supposed to be in this weekend, we thought we'd better get busy. We got a lot done yesterday. And I think we found 3 more graves.

It tickled Mik and Mal to see those tombstones, they said they didn't know there were graves over there. Weather permitting we're supposed to go back today and do more, I'll post more pics when we're done.
