The Train Ride

We went with the girls to Stearns Kentucky yesterday on a field trip. We got to ride a train into the mountains to an old mining camp, and have lunch. What fun!

Here are the pics. ..

Mother's Day

Mom rolled Lisa's table clothe backwards and let Maegan draw on the underside, ohhh they were sneaky at it. Maegan wasn't sure how to react to that, but with Mom's encouragement she drew a perfect happy face..and Lisa wont even know it's there!

This pic of Joel's from Bonnie, I love it!

I didn't get pictures of my Mother's Day gifts, but I will. I got the washer, I already posted pics of that, but Mik and Mal gave me flowers, Mom gave me an herb garden and a wind chime, Nick gave me 6 solar lights, (so neat!) and Lisa gave me a hanging flower - Bridal's Vail, and Bonnie brought me the prettiest porcelean angel. Thank you everyone!

Mallory's Earrings

She kept asking to have her ears pierced. But Walmart wont do it unless there's a parent present to sign a release form, and Mal's mom isn't around. (We knew Sarah was okay with it because she and Mom took Mik to get hers done and tried to get Mal to do hers at the same time, but Mal didn't want to then...) So... we bought the piercing gun, she picked out the earrings she wanted and Lisa pierced her ears. They looked great, didn't they?

They looked so nice, Maegan wanted hers done too, so Lisa pretended to do them and put on some old fashioned clip earrings she had...

I cleaned Mal's ear lobes before school Monday morning, she wanted her hair pulled back so her friends could see her beautiful pink earrings, and then when she came home, she was fluttering around, hands going, worried scared eyes,
"Mammy, my ears turned blue in school! My teacher said these earrings have to come out! Take them out! Please!"

I looked, and they looked fine to me, and I asked her if they hurt, she said no, but she still insisted they'd said her ears were blue, TAKE THEM OUT!

So.. I took them out. Her lobes were purple.. the marker in the piercing kit was purple.. when I cleaned them with the solution that morning, it made the marker run - made her lobes look blue to her friends. Love her heart.

She went back to school without her earrings Tuesday, explained to her teacher that it was just the marker, and her teacher said, yes, it was only the marker Mallory. Sheesh.. so then Mal wanted them put back in. Noway! She's gonna have to wait till she's a little older and a little less prone to panic. Poor runt!

Meanwhile, Mik's wearing the kind that will have her lobes stretched to her knees when she's older. *laughs* I told her she can only wear these once a year!

Dancing

When Sarah and Bonnie were girls, they'd dance the Macarina... now these girls are doing the same moves, but say it's the Macalana. Mik had to put on her dress to dance in the other day. Doesn't that dress and shoes just scream "Mamaw"? *laughs*

And here are a few of Miss Maegan..

What I Got For Mother's Day

Lisa delivered it with fear in her heart, she didn't know I've wanted one of these for years, so thought I was gonna get upset. *laughs* I LOVE IT!!

It's a Speed Queen!

Everything on it works! It's amazing, over 60 years old!

I've always wanted to show Mikyla the washing machine we used to help Mamaw use when we were kids. She'd set it up on the back porch and nothing was more fascinating. These kids agreed, they loved trying this thing out.

We didn't let them participate in the wringing process, but they sure did think that was neat!

Oh I just love my new washer, Dips, and Girls, THANK YOU!!!! I love you all!

Nasty Weather Here Today

The town set off that horrid alert alarm, the wind was blowing, the sky was black. It looked like a heck of a storm but I didn't go sit out on the porch this time, that dang alarm scares the bejesus out of me. Instead I got the kids all settled in the hall with blankets and just listened to the alarms and the weather radio.

What a way to start the day! I hope everyone is okay!

Hey! Sarah!

I don't know if you read here anymore, haven't heard from you since Mik's birthday. I wanted to tell you that the girls had their pics taken at school again, but I don't have a phone number where I can reach you, and no mailing address to write to you either. So... if you see this, give us a call - I'd like to have an address for where to send the school pics. I know you're somewhere in Louisiana, or were, the last we talked - but I don't think just sending them to you at Louisiana would work. HA. If you can't use a phone, mail me your address! ;)

A Few Pics of the Girls

This one was taken day before yesterday - Mom cooked those pork chops I was yammering on about!!! YAY Mom!! They were good, too, thanks!!

Gone To The Dogs...

Fudge tried to bully the puppy but the puppy wasn't havin' none of it. For the first time, a dog wasn't afraid of Fudge - and Fudge didn't know how to take that. I don't think he likes the puppy too well.

This little guy's a foundling. He showed up here day before yesterday crying in the rain. He's not staying though, he looks too much like a Rottweiler for my liking - we're gonna find a home for him in a few days if someone doesn't come looking for him. Aren't his eyes eeriy?
