Whitaker Cemetery, London, Kentucky
Saturday April 17, 2004

Saturday, my daughter and I went to the Whitaker family cemetery in London,
and we got some shots of the Indian burial ground while we were there.

Whitaker Road.

While we were there on Saturday, a gentleman was in the graveyard placing flowers on
his wife's grave. We struck up a conversation, and he told us a little about
living up there. He'd hoed corn in a big field behind Whitaker house as a child - back when
it was his family home, and not owned by the government.
Too, he said that he'd lived in the old house across from the cemetery as well, when
he was a child. That house, he said, is still privately owned - the government
hasn't bought it out. He said he didn't mind, that we could take all the photos we
wanted.. and we did, it's a beautiful place.

This hawk hovered over us as if to be sure we were behaving!
